So, a while ago I met two young ladies and they are like “all the investments they know about is buying stocks and shares and since they don’t have money for that, there’s no point being bothered about investments”. I told them several ways they can invest in themselves and not necessarily buying shares. The next sub headings will highlight ways to invest in yourself.

Education
Education is one of the greatest investments for anyone. Even the rich still get educated. I know you would say there are so many billionaires today that are college dropouts but are still very successful in their respective fields. My best advice is that we all have different life journeys, destinies and families. So you don’t live life based on other people’s experiences, though you learn from them. What works for them might not work for you.
If you take your lessons on investment seriously, it would come in handy. I know education has helped so many persons out of poverty. So education is my number one point of investing in yourself. I believe in education.
Investing in yourself
Reading
You can’t have a successful education without having a good reading habit. To be successful in your education you need to invest a lot of your time in reading, and while at it,you have to be focused. There is a lot to it but it’s best you take it a step at a time.
Setting smart goals.
Its easier to set goals but not so easy to set smart goals. And you would be wandering how do I set smart goals? It’s simple, from the acronym SMART you get Specific, Measurable, Actionable Relevant, Time bound. So, it is advised that we set our goals based on the meaning of the acronym SMART, and with this we can achieve our goals.
Networking.
Now someone would say, how is investing in networking part of investing in yourself? The truth is networking is a soft skill. It is a skill, you have to practice it to get better at it. Especially in the professional setting where you don’t relate to people the way you relate to your family. Your network can become a source of vital information for your promotion or getting a lucrative job and that’s is why you need to invest your time and effort into networking.
Build the act of discipline.
Discipline is a crucial skill we need. I call it a skill because everyone needs it. We live in a busy world and we get easily distracted from our focus. To achieve your goals, you need to build the act of discipline and this takes time. And it’s also a good way to invest in yourself.
